the soft pant

image

3.1 Phillip Lim tuxedo blouse (old but similar here); RACHEL Rachel Roy printed soft pants (old but similar here); black suede wedges (old but similar here); Rebecca Minkoff Dog Clip bracelet (sold out but similar here); Cara leather bracelet & silver bracelets (similar here).

You know I’m a big lover of soft pants, a/k/a slouchy, pj, etc. It’s dressy comfort at its best, especially when you pair it with a tuxedo bib top.

Do you do soft pants? Have a great Tuesday! xx

hey grey

image

Grey ankle boots. What a great dupe of the (much) pricier Rag & Bone Newbury ankle boots in a pretty dove grey shade.

image

Grey D’Orsay flats. These would look pretty with skinny jeans, leggings or a flared skirt or dress.

image

Grey turtleneck sweater. Great to throw over leggings and paired with knee high boots.

image

Grey tunic sweater. Wear this over a gauzy dress or skirt. Or, with cigarette leg jeans or pants.

Grey is a big color for this fall/winter, but I think grey is a great color for all the seasons. It’s a versatile color for your accessories too, it matches with everything.

LOFT and GAP are both running 40% off promos this weekend (they end tonight, I believe). LOFT has some grey jackets on sale that I loved in this post.

Enjoy your Sunday Funday!

oxfords

Bailey 44 pieced column dress (old but similar here); Nero Giardini Nepal Sabbia leather brogues (n/a in the US but similar here); J.Crew Factory necklace, enamel cuff (old but similar here) & link bracelet; Marc by Marc Jacobs Amy rose gold watch.

I’m wearing my oxfords or brogues from Florence, Italy. The leather inside and out is amazing and feels so good on my feet. I’m wearing a body-con dress to counter the menswear inspired shoes. I threw on the military vest for some interest to the outfit (multiple useful pockets!), but also to camouflage my problem areas (i.e., my stomach). I think everything is in harmony and I feel confident in this outfit.

Do you wear oxfords or brogues? Any other menswear inspired favorites of yours?

TGIF!! xx

for a rainy day

I was actually happy to have it rain this morning so I could wear my new Burberry trench that I picked up at the Nordstrom anniversary sale this past summer. I also wore my new Chloé Marcie hobo (also from the Nordstrom anniversary sale, which I bought from my sister who changed her mind about the bag). Isn’t the red so cheery on a gloomy day? I matched it to my red tartan plaid button-down shirt.

I ended up returning the Chloe satchel and wallet I bought a couple of years ago. I never used either because of the light-hued nubuck leather, which I was afraid of staining due to the many reviews I’ve read (klutz, party of one here). So, back they went and I was hoping the Chloé Marcie bag would go on sale in calfskin leather (no nubuck/suede). They finally did for this year’s sale and my sister scored the red hobo online (this never happens since they sell out in a nanosecond). I gladly took it off her hands when she had second thoughts.

I thought the plaid and ankle boots were the perfect touches for a rainy fall morning.

Do you have a trusty raincoat or other weatherproof item to cheer you up on a rainy day? Stay dry. xx

got jackets?

If you’re like me, you have an appreciation (and quite possibly an addiction) for a good jacket. And there are so many good jackets for every imaginable outfit and occasion. LOFT has been killing it in the jacket department for this fall. Here are my picks:

image

Moto flight jacket. Love the relaxed shape of this grey topper. I love how it looks with a turtleneck or mock turtleneck top.

image

Boiled wool zip-up jacket. I saw a very similar jacket on the Tory Burch website but this is more reasonable price-wise. Great minimalist look when paired with a fitted sweater or top and a pencil skirt or cigarette-legged pants or jeans.

image

Knit bomber jacket. This would be coming home with me. I don’t have a bomber jacket and this one is sophisticated with it’s subtle tweed fabrication and it’s machine washable (rare for a good fall jacket!).

image

Snow leopard print car coat. You just know I love my leopard and this is a pretty option for work or a date night out. I also like the blue and dark grey palette, a little unexpected.

image

Boiled wool peacoat in plum shade. I love this deep jewel-tone but almost black shade which is sure to match nearly everything else in your closet.

If not for the recent purchases at Madewell (burgundy moto jacket for the win) and Macy’s (more on that later), I would have snagged a jacket (or 2) myself. But I’m not above enabling someone else, ha. All in the name of love for a great jacket.

What’s your favorite jacket for fall? Any recent jacket purchases that you’re excited about?

fun with houndstooth

image

J.Crew Factory sweatshirt (old but this season’s version & a cropped, color-blocked version); Old Navy skirt (old but similar here); Steve Madden sneakers; Cara leather bracelet (sold out but similar here) & bangle (sold out but similar here); Cartier tank watch.

A little chill in the air this morning calls for a cozy sweatshirt. A houndstooth sweatshirt. I’m having fun with mixing patterns by adding my leopard slip-on sneakers. And a red lip, which always looks fresh with black and white houndstooth.

Have a great Tuesday! xx

sleeveless blazer

image

Sanctuary sleeveless blazer; Rag & Bone tank (old but similar here & here); Joe Fresh sweatpants (old but similar here & here); Isabel Marant for H&M shoes (old but similar here) & necklace (old but similar here); black studded leather cuff (old but similar here).

I’m in love with this new vest. For starters, it’s slimming. Yes, please. And it adds instant polish to an otherwise very casual outfit. Add pumps with some metal sequins and call it a (good) day.

So, have you shopped the Madewell sale yet? It ends tonight! Loft has been putting out some killer pieces lately, but I will refrain due to last weekend’s epic Madewell order. Check back this week for my Loft picks and hopefully reviews for my recent purchases.

Have a great week! xx

sweet Madewell sale

It’s literally a WinWin sale at Madewell this weekend! The “WinWin” code will get you 20% off your $100+ order or 30% off your $200+ order. Madewell is typically stingy with online discount codes, a decent sale is 20% off a select group of items. But a blanket 20% or 30% off with very little exclusions? Sign me up!

Here are my personal picks:

image

Motorcycle jacket in vintage merlot. Nothing says fall like this beautiful color. This jacket garnered top-rated reviews. How could it not?

image

Motorcycle jacket in true black. Classic, timeless and cool. If I didn’t already have my moto jacket in black, I’d have ordered this.

image

Blazer coat. I saw this on Instagram this morning and fell in love. It makes the wearer look model-esque, taller and thinner.

image

Oversized shirt. I’ve wanted a generous fitting button-down for ages. I plan to layer it over leather leggings and skinny jeans.

image

Necklace. What I call the Madewell necklace. It’s ubiquitous on their website.

image

Linen tank. I tried this on in the store, this is a great tank. The structure is flattering and the all-around embroidery is gorgeous.

image

Striped tank. Madewell linen tees and tanks are the best tees and tanks.

image

Muscle tank. You never have to worry about bra straps showing and they hit the sweet spot on your shoulder.

Don’t delay, this sale is a winner. xx

almost sweater weather

image

Denim & Supply sweater; 7 For All Mankind crop Josefina skinny boyfriend jeans; Banana Republic Factory Store Isabel wedge sandals (n/a online but similar here); Cara studded leather bracelet (sold out but similar here); Alex and Ani bangles (Birthstone, Zodiac & Path of Life); Kate Spade One in a Million initial pendant necklace; Dogeared Faith necklace; J.Crew Factory yellow braided belt (old but similar here).

Denim & Supply sweater; Alex and Ani bangles (Birthstone, Zodiac & Path of Life).

It seems that the need for air conditioning is over and that legs and arms need to be covered to keep away the slight chill in the air. I’m wearing my new southwestern patterned sweater and jewelry that I received as birthday gifts. Faith and strength are themes of the jewelry, which I really love and appreciate. Thankfully, it’s not boot weather. Yet.

Have you been dressing for fall lately? Enjoy your weekend! xx

slouchy sweater

image

image

image

Denim & Supply sweater. Also comes in a blue version.

This lighter weight all-cotton sweater is a great transitional piece. I just picked this up at Macy’s. I sized down to a small (usually a medium) because the main body of the sweater is really wide (hence the cool slouchy factor). The sweater does not show any midriff on me, unlike the stock photo. As you can see, there is a ton of detail on the front and back of the sweater. The color palette is fun too and would complement other colors easily, but I see this sweater with cognac or burnt red leather accents. So perfect for fall.
