Forever 21 embroidered denim shift dress (sold out, similar here); Black ‘Wekka’ fringe sandals.

This is a super simple outfit that is comfortable but still looks cool with the boho touches of black fringe and embroidery. I love these type of embroidered shift dresses for the warm weather, it’s something you just throw on with your favorite pair of sandals and you’re ready to run out the door. You know my love for fringe, so these sandals are fun to wear. It’s got just the right amount of fringe too.

Have a great Thursday, xx!

fringe obsessed

It’s official, I’m in love with fringe. The eye-catching movement and the way it feels on your skin are what makes fringe a winner for me. I seriously covet fringe jackets and skirts, but I feel more comfortable with expressing my love for fringe in accessories. Although there is that J.Crew gold fringe pencil skirt that I still think about (understandably sold out).

image

I saw this fringe cuff on Lisa (Ford? What’s that?) Vanderpump during a RHOBH episode and I knew I had to get one myself. I also love her white Panama hat.

I’m ordering these two fringe cuffs and see which one suits me better:

Chain fringe cuff bracelet. Extra 25% off with code FRIEND.

Hammered fringe cuff bracelet. Again, use FRIEND for an additional 25% off.

I had ordered this fringe necklace a few weeks ago, but it looks like it sold out online. It’s pretty awesome, an instant favorite that I will wear to jazz up a tee shirt or a strapless number. Hopefully you can locate one in a store if you like it.

Fringe necklace. Here’s another cool option here.

And I already mentioned these fringe sandals before here, but I wanted to show you the black suede pair. I bought these in black and honey. The suede and shoe lining are very soft and the little bit of fringe is a playful touch to your basic summer sandal. This thong style sandal goes with everything.

So, there you have it, my picks for fringe accessories. Are you partaking in the fringe trend? Have a great Tuesday! xx

so nice, we went there twice

We just returned from another amazing stay at Dorado Beach, Ritz Carlton Reserve. I mentioned it on the blog last year (here). We lucked out with the weather and our ocean view room had a killer plunge pool. In addition to the best outdoor shower ever.

Here are a few pics:

image

This stretch of beach was right outside our room. Gorgeous.

Hermit crab hanging out near the plunge pool.

The entrance to their renowned spa. I can still smell the fragrant eucalyptus and lavender. Their spa is an absolute must do. The spa professionals are the best, top notch in all aspects. If you need the best massage in your life, ask for Bianca. My husband and I both received a massage from Bianca and we were both extremely pleased and thoroughly relaxed when the massage was over. She is also the sweetest person ever.

The plunge pool of which I speak of. What an epic view from our room.

The outdoor shower. Just perfect.

OMG, I found my new favorite summer drink, J Vineyards Brut Rose. It’s light and bright with the perfect balance between dry and a subtle faint hint of strawberry. It’s delicious and addictive from the first sip.

image

Double-flounce bikini top; Panama hat; flash lense aviator sunglasses.

I seriously love my new bikini (discussed here), the double flounce was the cutest flirty touch. Add aviators and a classic Panama hat, you’re set for the resort.

Signette pink pleated tier dress (old, but similar here).

Our last night in paradise, with a glass of J Vineyards brut rose. Cheers!

Care to share any of your recent vacations, I’d love to get recs! xx

recent purchases

image

Double-flounce bikini top & ruched bikini bottom. I looove the double-flounce on this bikini top, it gives me curves up top and the best part is the tie back so it’s always going to be the perfect fit. The bikini bottoms are cute with the ruched side detail. The faux embroidered floral print reminds me of the current hippy dippy floral prints Louis Vuitton is advertising now.

image

White overalls. I had to get these after seeing them on Instagram. I already had a store credit with Forever 21 (I returned those culottes), so for just $8 more, I scored the white overalls. They are so easy to wear, I love the light color for spring and summer.

image

Fringe sandals. I’m dipping my toes in the hot fringe trend with these buttery suede beauties. These will look amazing with all of my embroidered dresses and tops, boho chic made easy and very wearable.

Any recent purchases you’d like to share? Enjoy your weekend!

stripes + cargos + denim

image

Old Navy denim jacket (similar); LOFT grey striped long sleeve tee (similar); J Brand Houlihan cargo pants (similar); Nike Air Pegasus ’83 sneakers (other colors); Forever 21 grey scarf (love the tassels on this scarf); Ray Ban flash lens aviator sunglasses; J. Crew Factory yellow belt (similar).

It was a gorgeous day yesterday, perfect for some stripes, cargos and a denim jacket. I also had my hair cut and colored, my hair felt lighter in the warmer weather. Afterward, it was a fun night filled with white wine, seafood (my fave), and great company. Not bad for a Monday!

for when it’s still chilly

J.Crew beaded chevron popover in white (similar, 40% off with promo code); Current/Elliott ‘The Stiletto’ ankle jean in Alumni (in Townie); Target camo flats (similar); Lauren Ralph Lauren leopard belt (similar); Cara studded leather bracelet (similar); Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Amy’ rose gold watch.

Isabel Marant for H&M double-breasted wool coat; J.Crew beaded chevron popover in white (similar, 40% off with promo code); Current/Elliott ‘The Stiletto’ ankle jean in Alumni (in Townie); Target camo flats (similar); Lauren Ralph Lauren leopard belt (similar); Cara studded leather bracelet (similar); Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Amy’ rose gold watch.

This is what I wore a couple of days ago when it was cold and damp. I needed that wool coat for warmth but I wore ballet flats instead of booties (so done with them now, it’s spring dammit).

But today is in the 60’s and the sun is shining, I’m out the door! Enjoy your Saturday, xx.

Clinique Bonus Time or: How I Got Help Looking Younger

Like the Dr. Strangelove reference? An absolute film classic, I highly recommend. Anyway, back to getting some 911 from Clinique in my battle to fight signs of aging. I thought this post would be timely since Macy’s is running a fabulous gift with purchase promotion. Here’s a pic of all the goodies:

image

Just look at how cute and happy the cosmetic bags are. I have an older double-bag set from Clinique and they are used constantly for my travels. The bigger bag is for the essential toiletries and the smaller bag is perfect for makeup brushes, eyeliners, mascaras, brow gel, and my holy grail eyelash curler.

I really like Clinique’s skincare, it’s not over the top expensive as compared to other department store brands. I find it effective in slowing down the aging effects on my skin. Like I get brown spots from being out in the sun now, despite my sunscreen applications. Or my skin gets super dry and flaky if the temps get slightly chilly. I’m also finding that I need a more intense color on my lips, to liven up my complexion a little. So, here are my recommendations on what to buy to get that prized bonus:

image

Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush; Liquid Facial Soap Mild; Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector; Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in mightiest maraschino.

Clinique is currently doing a limited edition value set for the sonic cleansing brush, in a polka dotted brush. How cute is that brush??

image

Clinique Cleansing limited edition value brush set in pink polka dots (for skin types 1/2) & in purple polka dots (for skin types 3/4).

Here’s a close-up selfie (look ma, no filter) from last month to show how much clearer my skin is since I’ve been using my sonic cleansing brush. This brush is a gentle exfoliater for getting rid of my flaky skin and it seriously polishes it into a smooth healthy glow every single time I use it. I also have less noticeable brownish sun spots on my nose and cheeks, due to the dark spot corrector. I use it at night, before bed so it can soak in and do it’s lightening magic. Lastly, I’m wearing the Chubby Stick Intense color on my lips. Love this highly wearable red and it’s such a moisturizing lip balm to boot.

Are there any favorites from Clinique that you can’t live without? Get to it to snag that bonus and Happy Thursday!

jumpsuit 💙

image

LOFT Lou & Grey chambray jumpsuit (similar); Armor Lux red striped top (similar); Report Marks booties (similar); Madewell Arrowstack necklace; Isabel Marant x H&M bracelet (similar); Cartier tank watch; Anastasia liquid lipstick in lovely.

I can’t believe it’s cold and rainy again, I had to get the ankle boots out. At least I could have fun with my layers and wear my new jumpsuit. I like this look because I appear taller than I actually am, which is always a good thing. By the way, I love the Lovely liquid lipstick that I’m wearing. It’s a pretty rose shade, it’s perfect for spring even though it feels like winter.

So, are you intrigued by jumpsuits or have you already taken the jumpsuit plunge?

coral & chambray

image

J.Crew Factory chambray shirtdress (similar, similar); Nike Air Pegasus ’83 sneakers in mica green orange (other colors); Forever 21 scarf (love this coral leopard scarf); Madewell leather collar stud cuff bracelet in dark cabernet (similar); Marc by Marc Jacobs Amy rose gold watch; Anastasia liquid lipstick in retro coral.

I love coral. Whenever I see this color, vivid memories of the hot summer sun, rattan marks on the backs of your thighs and the faint smell of coconut all come flooding back. You see, I’m a summer baby and I love all things summer.

If you don’t have a shirtdress, you need to get one pronto. I love one-piece items, it cuts down on getting-dressed time. Or, you just devote more time to your shoes and accessories. I just bought the Anastasia liquid lipstick in retro coral, so it was the starting point. I matched the coral with my sneakers and scarf. I’ve been loving little neckerchief scarves lately (bandannas are having a major moment right now), so I thought I’d try it out instead of a statement necklace.

By the way, the staying power of this matte lipstick is crazy! It’s been 6+ hours since I’ve applied it and it’s still going strong. The color is very intense, but I seriously love how it shows up in photos. I also purchased a rosy nude called Lovely, I’ll let you know if I like it or not. It’s a great value, you just need a little bit to apply the color and it comes in a huge lipgloss tube (it’s definitely a lipstick and not a lip tint or gloss). And for a matte lipstick, it’s not drying at all. Although, you should make sure your lips aren’t chapped before applying. This is my new night out lipstick, I may not even need to throw it in my clutch since it lasts through eating and drinking.

Do you like the color coral? Enjoy your Tuesday!

seersucker

J.Crew Factory Kiss Kiss tee (similar), seersucker pencil skirt (similar), elastic belt (similar, similar); J.Crew floral shield necklace; Nero Giardini oxfords (similar, similar); H&M faux leather cuff (similar); Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Amy’ rose gold watch.

It’s seersucker weather and this pencil skirt fits the bill. I bought it a few years ago and then it was too small for me. Now, it’s a little loose but it’s nothing that an elastic belt can’t fix. I continued the preppy vibe with my Italian-made oxfords/brogues, but I diffused the preppiness with my Kiss Kiss tee and a statement necklace. A super easy outfit for a pretty spring day.

Do you wear seersucker? Please share how you style it. xx
