A super easy look that channels my inner tomboy. Sneakers, check. Gingham button-down, check. Basic jeans, check. Throw on a military inspired vest and I’m (so) ready for the weekend.

TGIF! Enjoy your Friday, xx.

layered jumpsuit

image

LOFT Lou & Grey chambray jumpsuit (sold out online, but similar here & here); J.Crew Factory houndstooth sweatshirt (similar here & here); J.Crew MacAlister wedge boots; Madewell Ensign necklace, tiger’s eye cocktail ring (cool lapis ring) & earrings; Cara leather studded cuff bracelet (similar); Marc by Marc Jacobs Amy Rose gold watch.

This jumpsuit is so soft and comfortable, it’s like a warm hug on this cold and damp day. I’m so glad I bought this before it sold out online. Talk about a versatile layering piece, this begs to be punched up with prints, bright colors or the ever reliable neutral palette. Shoe options are endless: ankle boots, sandals, mules, slides, etc. It looks cute with sneakers, but I had to give my leopard slip-on sneakers a break from overuse (I reach for them almost everyday).

Are you doing jumpsuits this season? Happy Thursday!

in the navy

Navy and spring go hand-in-hand. It’s so fresh and a welcome break from the ubiquitous black coats and boots from winter. Navy looks great on everyone and is the perfect neutral. Here are my picks of my new navy loves:

image

Laser-cut floral dress. Love this shift dress, it’s an easy silhouette to wear but the intricate details make it extra special and fancy. Currently, there’s a 25% off promotion on this dress.

image

Floral flared dress. I love, love, love navy and coral together. It’s such a happy color combo for spring and summer. Another sale on this dress at 30% off, price as marked in red text.

image

Eyelet dress. I’m smitten with this dress, the eyelet is sweet but the front and back cutouts skew sexy. I’m debating on whether I’m too old for this dress, but it’s been sitting in my virtual shopping bag since I’ve first laid my eyes on it. I’m thinking flat sandals would make it resort wear appropriate.

image

Cotton biker jacket. This moto jacket is on clearance and currently only available in a size 2, hopefully they will have more sizes in stock soon. It’s an easy fit and a longer shape for those who are a little intimidated by the traditional motorcycle jacket look. Plus, it’s machine washable! And, check out the adorable lining of the jacket.

image

Update: The Boden jacket above has sold out online, but I just came across another cotton biker jacket here, but it’s dry clean only. It’s longer in length and adds the perfect slouch and attitude to any outfit. And, it’s 50% off with the promo code!

image

Fringed hobo bag. 70’s fringe is big for this season but the navy makes it less hippy-dippy and more urban boho. Fringe is so eye-catching, this bag would be a super fun and functional accessory.

image

Sunglasses. These sunglasses remind me of an old pair that I had in the 80’s. The colored frames will be so striking against your face and hair. The retro shape is a fun reminder of when you started caring about your sunglass game as a teen.

So, do you like navy? How do you wear it? Enjoy your weekend!

muchas gracias cancun

We just got back from Cancun, Mexico (our second trip there since January 2015) and really enjoyed our stay at Nizuc Resort & Spa. This 5-star property is new (only 2 years old) and the spa was seriously top-notch (we received a massage and facial, but we loved the hydrotherapy experience that’s included with any spa treatment). It was lots of fun, even on our flight down to Mexico (packed with college students for their Spring Break). Here’s a few random shots around the resort:

LOFT striped romper; J.Crew Factory navy fedora (similar); Splendid bikini (top here & here; bottom here); Havaianas leopard flip-flops; Ray Ban aviator sunglasses; diamond stud earrings (similar).

Our terrace with the fabulous plunge pool (we already miss it!). Look at that view.

Lululemon tank (similar), running skirt (similar) & bang buster headband (other colors); New Balance 860v4 sneakers; WrightSock ankle socks.

We can’t wait for our next tropical beach trip, especially since it’s snowing as I type this. On this first official day of spring. Fun in the sun is the way to go to get your mojo back. TGIF!

the column midi dress

image

Bailey 44 striped column midi dress (similar with 3/4 length sleeves); KORS Michael Kors black wedge sandals (similar); Banana Republic faux snakeskin clutch (similar); J.Crew floral shield necklace.

These column dresses by Bailey44 are the best, so comfortable and figure-flattering. I have a total of 4 of these, 2 midi-length and 2 that are above the knee (seen here & here). It’s perfect to travel with because it never wrinkles and they layer so well. It’s a total classic.

st. paddy’s day crochet

Patterson J. Kincaid ‘Dora’ crochet dress (similar); Banana Republic Factory Store cognac wedge sandals (similar); Ray Ban aviator sunglasses; Banana Republic faux snakeskin clutch (similar).

I bought this dress 2 years ago (discussed here) and it was too small. Not anymore since I’ve lost weight. It’s super comfortable and looks amazing with a fresh tan. Life is truly good.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! xx

a little romper

LOFT Botanic romper; Banana Republic Factory Store cognac wedge sandals (old, similar here and inexpensive option here); Cartier tank watch; Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Mightiest Maraschino.

I’m in love with this new LOFT romper. It is so darn cute and flattering, I felt really good wearing this fun piece. I thought the cognac wedge sandals and red lip complemented the navy and red botanical print of the romper. If you like the romper, I hope you’re able to snag one since it’s selling out fast in smaller sizes online. It’s true to size for me (I’m wearing a small).

Are you going to wear rompers this spring/summer? Happy Monday! xx

jump on it

image

3.1 Phillip Lim jumpsuit (similar); Zara TRF jacket (LOVE this jacket); Steven by Steve Madden ‘Slater’ peep-toe booties (similar); Isabel Marant for H&M necklace (similar); Cara studded leather bracelet (similar); Forever 21 silver cuff (similar); Cartier tank watch.

I’m bringing back the jumpsuit. I’m very excited for the new LOFT chambray jumpsuit that should arrive tomorrow (discussed here). I’m also thrilled that I can now fit into my smaller sized jumpsuit that I bought in 2008 (everything gets recycled eventually). I’ve styled it dressy and casual, it just shows how versatile the jumpsuit can be.

Enjoy the warmer temps! xx

got flare?

image

Armor Lux red striped top (great dupe and similar); Twenty8Twelve flared jeans (similar); Alexander McQueen Chelsea ankle boots (similar); Vintage boho necklace (gold boho necklace) & Omega watch (similar); Madewell leather collar stud cuff in dark cabernet (brass & braided leather option) & tiger’s eye cocktail ring (lapis option).

Flared jeans are back, thankfully I saved my old pairs from several years ago. The higher rise and lowered floor-grazing hem makes for longer legs, which is always a good thing. Classic red breton stripes and a boho necklace complete the 70’s-inspired outfit. Very easy and very comfortable.

Are you dusting off your flared jeans for this spring? Enjoy your Tuesday!

early spring ootd

image

Pins and Needles sleeveless button-down blouse (similar); Old Navy boucle cardi jacket in lemon decadence (similar); Rag & Bone ‘The Dre’ boyfriend jeans (similar & a cheaper option); Forever 21 pointed faux leather loafers.

Today was a beautiful spring-like day. It was warm enough to expose some bare ankles with my new mules and cuffed boyfriend jeans. The Chanel-esque jacket is so cheerful in yellow and it’s a great outer later for this transitional weather.

Have a great week!
