Row 1: J.Crew halter bikini top in earth, sun shirt in white/lime & navy/royal blue.

Row 2: J.Crew ruched bikini bottom in earth, playa earrings & lucite link bracelet.

Row 3: J.Crew New York tee, cocktail shirt & Paris tee.

More is more according to J.Crew where promo code SHOPMORE will get you an extra 25% off your $125+ online order or 30% off your $200+ online order. There is free shipping today too.

Some exclusions apply (the website alerts you as soon as you add excluded items to your virtual shopping bag), but all of my picks above get the additional discount. The first five items were already on sale, so double-dipping in savings. You know I love when this happens!

I already have this bikini set in periwinkle blue and I love the retro vintage vibe. Plus, I appreciate the extra bit of coverage as compared to my string bikinis. I ordered my usual J.Crew swimwear size of Small. That’s what I have in the periwinkle blue set and the fit is perfect for me.

The sun shirts received very high marks online. I’m at the beach all summer long but there comes a point when you can no longer tan. The UPF will come in handy for major sun protection. Or, I plan to throw it on once the sun sets and the sea breezes really pick up. I ordered two different sizes (XS and S) to see which fits me better.

I thought the statement earrings were super fun and the reviews say they are not heavy in weight. I love the shade of cornflower blue for the lucite link bracelet, so I picked that up too.

I’ve been wanting the New York and Paris destination tees and the eccentric cocktail button-down shirt for awhile but I was waiting for a sale or promo code. And, here we are. I ordered all three in my usual J. Crew size of XS (for both t-shirts) and 0 (for the button-down shirt).

Are you shopping the more is more sale?

Happy Hump Day! xx

summer paisley

J.Crew paisley silk dress; Madewell pompom necklace, leather bracelet (old), anklet (old) & ring (old); GAP cross strap slides in true indigo.

For my outfit today, I’m rocking my summer paisley with a J.Crew silk dress that was a recent birthday gift. It’s so flirty and fun. I love the smocked waist because it provides a feminine silhouette. I’m wearing a size 2 and I like the fit. I’m normally a size 0 in J.Crew but the defined waist of the dress is very flattering. I also like the larger size because I wouldn’t like the smocked waist of the dress to be tight over my torso. It’s loose and comfortable, which I appreciate for those sweltering summer days and nights.

The skirt portion of the dress is lined with dark navy polyester so it’s not revealing underneath and is clutch for those windy breezes. I remember seeing this dress style online at J.Crew a few months ago in a solid color (green?) and I wasn’t a fan of the smocked waist. It’s much less noticeable with the paisley print and I’m seriously loving the navy color palette of the paisley.

The best part? This dress is on sale with an additional 40% off (today only!) with promo code SALESEARCH.

Enjoy your week!

Bonjour! It’s been a busy last couple of weeks, but I’m back. I hope you’re enjoying the last few weeks of summer.

I’m wearing a new bonjour ringer tee from Forever 21 and a somewhat new pair of Sanctuary camo shorts in the first outfit. The tee runs true to size to slightly small. I’m wearing a size small and it *just* fits. I will be hanging dry this tee as I don’t want to risk any shrinkage in the dryer. The camo shorts run big due to the stretchy fabric. I’m wearing a size 24 for reference (I’m normally a size 25).

The last outfit is today’s look and I’m slowly transitioning to fall due to the lower temps and lack of humidity. I’m wearing a dark plaid for the first time since the winter months. The sleeveless shirt was from Nordstrom’s anniversary sale but it’s since sold out. If it pops back online or in the store, it’s a generous fit. I’m wearing a size XS and the shirt is oversized on me. However, I really like the longer length of the top, which is great for wearing over leggings this fall and winter. It’s the perfect layering piece for when it gets even cooler (under a sweater or over a thin turtleneck top).

What have you been wearing this August? Are you looking forward to the transition into fall?

Happy Wednesday to you! xx

let’s ENJOY30 percent off at Madewell

Madewell is currently running an additional 30% off all sale items with promo code ENJOY30 until 11:59 pm this Monday, August 15. You know this is when I love to shop at Madewell, a sale on a sale is the ultimate shopping temptation. Let’s not forget that Madewell does free shipping with no minimum dollar purchase required–sweet.

For me, I am beyond thrilled with my Madewell purchases from a few weeks ago (featured here), the last time Madewell did a sale on sale promotion. I believe most of the items are still available. I found everything to be true to size and I ordered my usual Madewell size, extra-small. I have featured various outfits with the new Madewell purchases in recent blog posts, so please just scroll down if you want read reviews for fit or length references. Or, you can simply click here, here and here for the outfit review posts.

However, I did place a small order yesterday for a couple of sunglass cases. I know, not very exciting but necessary since the Playlist sunglasses I purchased did not come with a hard case. I also have a few pairs of older sunglasses that need cases, so I got a back-up sunglass case for those too. At well under $10 a pop, before tax, and free shipping–a no-brainer for sure.

And here is yesterday’s outfit with another Madewell dress that is on sale:

image

Madewell striped tank dress in black & playlist sunglasses in dalmation; GAP cross slide sandals in true black.

I really love this dress, it’s easy to wear and perfect for those sweltering summer days and nights. It was a scorcher of a day, so I was impressed that the dress was cool and comfortable to wear. The dress did not wrinkle in the slightest, so it’s perfect for looking a like a fresh daisy during a long day of travel. The lower scoop back was a feminine touch. I wore my regular bra and used the bra keeps at the top of the tank straps, which is the best practical detail ever. The fit is true to size, I’m wearing a size XS for reference.

Are you planning to shop Madewell’s sale on sale promo?

TGIF everyone! xx

Madewell gets me every time. The first outfit was from last week and Madewell’s embroidered pieces are my favorites. I’m sporting recent purchases for my second outfit. The courier shirtdress is true to size, I’m wearing a size XS.

Have a great week! xx

August is here and I’m wearing shorts as much as possible before the weather turns cool.

I’m wearing a few recent purchases, such as the Madewell Libra lace-up tee and Playlist sunglasses (both mentioned here). I’m happy to report that the tee is true to size and the sunglasses fit my face.

I’m wearing two new purchases from the Nordstrom Annicersary Sale for my last outfit. The Leith striped button-down shirt is true to size and the burgundy and navy stripes look really fresh. The Paul Green loafers (how great is that bordeaux color?) are not true to size for me, I bought a size 7.5 (I’m a size 8) so they run big/wide (my heels kept popping out of the size 8’s while walking). These two items will easily transition into fall and winter.

What recent purchases have you been loving? Happy Tuesday!
