chanel does Hitchcock

I am in love with 2 of Chanel’s Fall 2012 nail colors:  Frenzy and Vertigo.  The 3rd color is pretty, Suspicious.  The names are borrowed from classic Alfred Hitchcock films, although it’s Suspicion (not Suspicious).

I was going to insert a picture of the 3 Chanel nail colors, but I’m having technical difficulties with WordPress.  I hope this works itself out.

I just bought Frenzy and Vertigo.  I now have Frenzy on my fingers and love the lilac-beige color.  So very Hitchcock ice queen blonde, so cool and collected.  I can’t wait to try Vertigo, it’s an almost black color with a tinge of dark purple.  I hope it’s the murky dark grey I was going for.

If I can insert images, I will update this post for sure.  My apologies!

UPDATE:  WordPress is finally letting me insert images again.  I am breathing a sigh of relief.

Frenzy on my left hand:

I plan to paint some Vertigo very soon.  I will post a pic.  ::: crosses fingers :::

I met a new friend for dinner last night.  An amazing dinner at that.  Aquagrill, go there now if you love seafood, or simply just good food.  Thank you, new friend, for introducing me to this place and for a fabulous time!

My outfit from last night:

Gryphon-New York navy silk beaded blouse (old); 7 For All Mankind ‘Gwenevere’ grey skinny jeans (old); Report ‘Marks’ bootie in Luggage.

The blouse fits a little too loose now.  But it’s so pretty with all the beading on the front bib and sleeves of the blouse, I can’t part with it or not wear it.  The weight of the beads provide a flattering drape to the blouse as well.

I am anxiously awaiting the next meal with A.  I’m hungry already for it, ha.

My outfit from Saturday, when it was still deliciously warm.

Forever21 striped sheath dress; Tory Burch ‘Eddie’ nude flats (old); H&M rhinestone neon necklace; J.Crew Factory yellow braided leather belt (old).

Hope you’re having a great week!  xo

Zara jacket (old); Matthew Williamson for Impulse cowl neck blouse (old); AG Adriano Goldschmeid Stilt Cigarette jeans; Dolce Vita ‘Rozene’ wedge sandal (old); BCBG rhinestone cocktail ring (old); Multi-Chain link cuff (gift, old); Banana Republic silver metallic zip clutch (old).

I had a little print mixing action.  The  jacket has an Isabel Marant feel to it and I thought it brought out the blue in the blouse, which has a futuristic star print.  You can’t see it but the wedge sandal has a subtle linear print, like the underside of your blue jeans (Dolce Vita called the color ‘denim’).

heavy metal

Blinged out a little on Sunday.  You kind of have to with the leopard, ya know?

Zara leopard camp shirt (old); AG Adriano Goldschmied Stilt jeans; Belle by Sigerson Morrison patent taupe flats w/gold metal studs (very old); H&M neon rhinestone necklace (available in stores now, not online); Multi-Chain link cuff (gift, old); Ray Ban aviators.

I think I can hear my shirt purring.  lol

last hurrah

I love everything about this Zara floral dress–the bright colors, the retro shape (very flattering since it gives me a waist and hides the problem areas), everything.  I figured I could wear it one last time this year since it’s more of a spring and summer outfit (remember this?).  I added green accents for an overall fecund theme.

Zara V-Back dress (old); Zara Basic Sandal (old); J.Crew Factory green stone cluster necklace (in stores now but n/a online), mint rhinestone bangle (old) & white bangle (old); Marc by Marc Jacobs gold watch (old); Chanel ‘Paradoxal’ nail color.

Thank you, Summer of 2012.  You were golden.

back in black

I’ve been too long I’m glad to be back

Date night last night and I chose an old reliable friend for an easy chic (and slimming!) look, black.

Helmut Lang Drift Print sleeveless top; Paige Skyline Skinny jeans in black ink; BCBGeneration black platform sandals (old); BCBG rhinestone gun metal cocktail ring (old); Cartier tank watch.

The top and jeans are new.  I didn’t want a head to toe black look, so I love the abstract design on the Helmut Lang top.  It has a little peplum that lays flat with a drawstring detail.  I love the way this designer’s tops drape, a little askew but flattering and interesting to the eye.  I love my new skinny jeans, these are my first pair of Paige’s.  It has a medium rise and comfortable fit.

Black is my friend.

Fall is here!  I’m excited to wear jeans and jackets again.  And boots!

Here’s my outfit today.  I’m in a dressing room at my local Old Navy store.  I figured I would take advantage of the full-length mirror, ha.

J.Crew Factory Chambray Shirt; Zara red skinny jeans (old); Steven by Steve Madden ‘Madee’ leopard smoking flats (old); H&M neon rhinestone necklace (new but not avail. online, check your local store asap!); BCBG bracelets (old).

I had a little shopping excursion yesterday and got some stuff for fall.  It was an outlet and Old Navy kind of trip.  Again, all the photos were taken in the dressing room.  I take dressing room shots so I can message my sister for her invaluable feedback.  She is truth.  I bought all the stuff featured below.

Old Navy Striped Color-Block Jersey Dress in pinkish red stripes/navy & grey/coral

This dress is easy, you just throw it on and you’re done.  I love the colorblocking and stripes, 2 of my favorite trends rolled into 1.  If you buy this dress online (code: ONBIG20) or at the store, be sure to take advantage of the 20% off until this Sunday, 9/16.  Here’s the in-store coupon.

J.Crew Factory Scoopneck Sequin Tee in dark pewter; J.Crew Factory green cluster necklace (available in store now but not online).

I got a Medium in the tee, it’s more fitted than not.  I loved the green necklace, it’s a great statement piece.

Please share what you’re excited about for this fall, I would love to hear what you’re itching to take out of storage once the temps cool down.
