3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Sparkle Peplum Tank; Paige ‘Paloma’ Leather Leggings (old); B Brian Atwood ‘Bejo’ Leopard Wedges; H&M rhinestone faux leather cuff (old); Cartier tank watch.

I ordered a few things from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collaboration, but I’m only keeping the peplum top. It looks and feels a lot more expensive than $39.99. I also ordered the leopard print dress and the black shift dress, but they are going back since the fit was off for me.

I’m obsessed with these new leopard wedges. They are really beautiful shoes, comfortable too. I will try very hard not to wear these everyday, lol.

TGIF, enjoy your upcoming weekend!

good hair day

J.Crew Factory Peter Pan Collar Tee in Black; AG ‘Stilt’ Sateen Jeans in Wine (old); Cole Haan Air Josey ballet flats in black (old); Cartier tank watch.

I snapped a quick pic after getting my hair done at the salon yesterday. If I could have one indulgence in life, I’d get my hair done professionally every single day. Or once a week.

And while we’re at it, a makeup artist too. But only as needed.

Ammiright?

It’s warmer today so I’m trying to get my sandal and shorts fix in before it’s officially cold.

how to reclaim 10 minutes in your day

Image

Aquis microfiber hair towel.

I bought this amazing hair towel on amazon because I’ve been air drying my hair lately. I’m impressed by how much water it sucks out of my long and thick hair, post-shower. I wish it was a little bit larger for my long hair, but it leaves my hair a lot drier than my regular bath towels. It’s also very light in weight so it doesn’t pull on my hair nor does it yank my hair out. I’m going to travel with it too.

I leave it on my hair for at least a few minutes. I twist it up in a turban. I couldn’t do that with my regular bath towel because it was so heavy and kept falling off my head, multiple times. My wet hair used to drip on my shirt, etc. before, but not anymore since I got the new towel.

If you buy it, do not use fabric softener when washing. I’ve heard it cuts down on the frizz, even for the curly-haired. The only thing missing is for this towel to magically style your hair too, a la Jetsons. How great would that be?

It cuts down on the time you’d spend on your hair. More time for you is always a good thing. 🙂

This outfit makes me smile. I love the vibrant green of the blouse and the explosion of sparkle of my necklace. With a little sliver of my beloved leopard print.

I highly recommend the dotted blouse, even though the Dublin Green color is sold out. I would get the cranberry punch color (get it here), it’s a happy color and it would complement fair to darker complexions. A tip, it’s generously sized. I’m wearing a Small and I typically wear a Small or a Medium in J.Crew Factory tops.

Happy Monday! Fall is upon us, time to layer.

my favorite things

Image

J.Crew Factory Houndstooth Sweatshirt (new, but sold out online, but similar here!); LC Lauren Conrad sequin skirt in black (old); Steven by Steve Madden ‘Slater’ bootie in black leather; Hematite rhinestone station link necklace (gift) and two-finger stud ring (old); Cartier tank stainless steel watch.

I’m baaaack. I couldn’t stay away. But more importantly, this is a welcome distraction right about now for me. It’s been a very craptastic week and just like the song from The Sound of Music says, I must simply remember my favorite things and then I won’t feel so bad. I hope it works.

So, this outfit is a collection of some of my favorite things: sequins, houndstooth print, punk-inspired jewelry, rhinestones. Each item is a favorite.

Happy Friday the 13th and enjoy you weekend! xo

the terrible twos

I just realized that my first Valley of the Shoes blog post was exactly 2 years ago today. Believe me when I tell you that time zooms by at a rapid clip when you are over forty. So, it’s nice to celebrate something that still has a single digit, ha.

I’ve been mulling over whether or not to end this blog. I’m kind of over social media in general lately. More like, I should wean myself off a little. So, I will see you when I see you. You take care now.

Okay, I lied. I’m back to let you know that I can’t give up my Pinterest. So, follow me on there to check out my latest obsessions.
