shearling

Nordstrom Hinge faux shearling vest, zipped & unzipped (old); Boden Autumn Breton Long Sleeve Top in Vanilla & Navy stripes (sold out but similar here); 7 For All Mankind ‘Gwenevere’ grey skinny jeans (old); Report ‘Marks’ bootie in Luggage.

If you need to retain some body heat this winter, get yourself a shearling or faux shearling vest right quick.  This feels like an electric blanket for your torso, but better because it’s crazy cozy soft.

I am so over this cold and grey weather, I needed a pick-me-up.  Bright red lips, breton stripes, and happy summery shades of turquoise and yellow fit the bill.

TGIF!

bulldog & brocade

ONE by Sunny Girl bulldog sweater in burnt orange; Paige Skyline Skinny jeans in black ink; Report ‘Marks’ suede bootie in luggage; Nina Kuna Sideways gold anchor necklace; Alexander McQueen small skull bracelet (in different colors, here); Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Amy’ rose gold watch; Marc by Marc Jacobs bow earrings in grey/gold (old).

The little bulldog, my sister and I were all ready for a day of shopping.  I scored a pair of J Brand gold brocade skinny jeans in the sale section at Anthropologie ($99.95 from $242.00!).

My sister says brocade will still be in vogue next year and you know I’ve had a long-standing obsession with it.  Anthropologie has a couple of brocade in lighter colors for their new spring collection.

Hope you had a great weekend!

my recent acquisitions

If you haven’t heard, emerald green is Pantone’s color of the year.  I have always been drawn to this color.  Remember Kiera Knightly’s amazing emerald silk dress in the Atonement film?

Striking, isn’t it?  I need to incorporate more emerald green into my wardrobe.  I just learned that I am a deep winter according to an online color analysis questionnaire (lol) and green emerald was on my color chart.  Done and done.

Michael Kors Emerald Crystal Bracelet.

Autumn Breton Long Sleeve Top in charcoal marl & red stripe and vanilla & navy stripes, respectively.  I am addicted to stripes, it’s a problem.  Yet, it’s hard to find something more classic and crisp than Breton stripes.

Guernsey Tee in navy & vanilla stripe.  I cannot wait to wear this on my upcoming vacations and of course, this spring and summer.  I bought the Autumn Breton and Guernsey Tee from Boden USA online (my first Boden purchase).  Right now, there’s a 15% off plus free shipping promotion (code: WAFL), but note that the 15% discount does not apply to sale items.  All 3 tops are on sale, but I saved on the $10 shipping charge–woot.

This is my favorite acquisiton.  You know I’ve been eyeing tulle skirts lately (remember?), so I’m thrilled that I had the opportunity to be gifted a tulle skirt.  I’m ready to get my inner ballerina on, but I’m going to toughen it up a little.  Maybe with killer pointy toe pumps and a leather jacket.

What have you recently acquired that gets you excited?  xo

violet

H&M cream crewneck sweater with double zipper detail & neon yellow rhinestone necklace; Banana Republic Factory Store purple skinny jeans; Forever 21 basic tunic tank in ivory (worn underneath sweater); Modern Vintage ‘Janet’ black riding boots.

These are one of my favorite jeans, mostly because of the saturated purple color.  You can see the truer color here in this post.

Hope you had a great weekend.  Don’t forget, Season 3 of Downton Abbey begins tonight!

fuzzy & anchor necklaces

LC Lauren Conrad polka-dot chiffon blouse in plum; Forever21 essential longline cami in black; Paige Denim skyline skinny jeans in black ink; Burberry ‘Wingfield’ biker boots; black fuzzy beaded necklace (old); black & silver vintage charm necklace (old); black studded leather cuff (old); marcasite silver ring (old).

I had fun with my outfit today, especially with the fuzzy ball necklace that played with the black dots on my blouse.  I’m so glad I finally organized my jewelry recently.  I rediscovered some amazing pieces and a lot of memories too.

I recently fell in love with a delicate anchor necklace I found on Pinterest.

Nina Kuna Sideways Anchor Necklace via Etsy (16″ chain but you can request for a 18″ chain & also available in rose gold and silver).

So, I had to have it, haha.  I never ordered from Etsy before (I finally joined the rest of the world, right?), but I’ve read some positive feedback online.  I can’t wait to wear it with my gold pave crab necklace (I’m a Cancer) for a layered necklace look.

Do you have any jewelry that you love to bits lately?  Please share.
