So, here are the rest of the pics from the Watch What Happens Live taping. We got to stand behind the WWHL bar (Andy, please know that if you need a guest WWHL bartender one night, I’m your gal!). Countess LuAnn and Billy Eichner in action. Lastly, a great pic of Andy Cohen, Shelby Miller, Jon Jay, Daniel Descalso and Wacha, Andy’s adorable dog. Andy is a die-hard Cardinals fan, so he named his pooch after pitcher Michael Wacha.
I got caught up on this week’s Real Housewives of NY episode, I’m starting to like Heather more this season than last season. I hope her son has a successful surgery. Aviva needs to go, she is a very ill fit for the show and cast. I just want to see the episode where her prosthetic leg ends up alone on a rug, I need to know the backstory on that looney tunes.
My sister and I were beyond fortunate to have attended the April 22nd taping of Watch What Happens Live. It was surreal since my long-standing guilty pleasure is watching most of the Real Housewives series and WWHL with Andy Cohen. I’m still pinching myself, ah. The guests were Luann de Lesseps and Billy Eichner. The guest bartenders were St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller and outfielder Jon Jay. In the studio audience, I think it was infielder Daniel Descalso in attendance, along with several of the Cardinals’ WAGs (wives and girlfriends).
Before the taping, we got gratis Barefoot Bubbly in the waiting area. I loved the Prosecco BB since it’s dry (not sweet, but if you like sweet, they’ve got you covered with the other flavors). They also provided BB during the show and after-show tapings. So up my alley, thank you!
The studio was tiny, it fits about 20-25 audience members in addition to the guests and filming crew, etc. I loved that it was so intimate, it made for an up-close and personal experience.
The Countess was tall and tiny in person. She is really pretty. Billy Eichner was hysterical. I recognized him from one of my favorite TV shows, Parks and Recreation. He also has a show on Fuse where he does guerrilla tactic Q&A to New Yorkers on the street.
So, here are pics of what happens before WWHL tapes live. I will post the rest of the pics in another post since the image files were large.
I’m wearing my Madewell Gallerist ponte v-neck dress with an old Givenchy link necklace to dress it up. I also wore my Steven by Steve Madden Slater booties, but you can’t see them in the pics.
OMG, ANDY COHEN! We got to meet Andy after the show taped. He was very gracious and super fun.
Pinterest got me again! I pinned this romper because I loved the pretty boho print. Then I had to order it because I started thinking of what I could wear with it for various outfits. This is my first romper, I was a little skeptical at first. But the loose and easy fit makes it look like a quasi dress, and it’s something different from the same old.
I can envision this with my white blazer and high heeled wedges for a dressier look. Or, flat sandals and my straw fedora for a casual outfit. You can accessorize like crazy for this cool backdrop, I’m thinking a variety of belts and long pendant necklaces.
LOFT is currently running a 50% off promo code until midnight tonight: CYBER50, so I picked this up for about $40. The reviews say it runs large so I ordered my normal size and a size down. I really hope this romper works out, I feel like this could be a major Summer 2014 piece.
Check out this ‘Follow the Sun’ video from LOFT, it shows off a nice sampling of their summer 2014 collection:
What do you think of rompers? Anything on Pinterest lately that caught your eye (& wallet)?
Happy Easter weekend to you! xx
UPDATE: So, I finally tried on the rompers and they were a bust for me. First, you had to button the top part of the romper and they were hard to button and unbutton. Maybe if it had been a zipper or if the button holes were bigger or not so stiff, it would be way more practical. Second, the fit of both sized rompers were not flattering on my body. The waistline of the romper did not hit the most narrow point of my torso, so it was a no go. I will say that if you have an hourglass shape, I think it’s very flattering. My sister ordered one and it looked great on her, so it may be a keeper.
I love this sweatshirt dress! It looks and feels like you’ve worn it for years. The fit is a little loose but fitted enough where it prevents the potato sack hang. This is exactly what I was looking for in a casual dress for the warmer months. I think the neon sneakers pair perfectly with the sporty chic vibe of the dress. There’s a slight chill in the air today, so I threw on my denim jacket and grey camo scarf for some cozy layers.
Lush Juniors woven v-neck blouse in Seafoam (other colors here); Zara skort in white (old); Tory Burch ‘Gaby’ slides in white (old); Banana Republic Factory Store link necklace (old); J.Crew Factory white & gold bangle and mint rhinestone bangle (old); Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Amy’ rose gold watch; diamond & yellow gold hoops (gifted).
Mint and white does wonders for a tan. Add some gold accents to make everything pop.
Rachel Pally Long Twist shoulder dress in slate grey (other colors here and here); Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses.
I love this maxi dress, I pack it for nearly every beach destination. It’s deceptively elegant, but it feels so comfortable. The black version is currently 25% off at Shopbop! Also, apologies if the image is cut-off on your screen. You can click on it to see the whole image.
I’m zoned out and relaxed in our private plunge pool spa. It was on our terrace, look at that view!
Rachel Pally Long Twist shoulder dress in slate grey (other colors here and here); Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses; Michael Kors Sporty Lip Lacquer lipstick in Diva.
I’m so obsessed with this Michael Kors lipstick, it has a sexy sheen and is very moisturizing. It’s perfect for summer and beyond.
Hanging in the plunge pool.
Complimentary foot massage at the Esperanza Resort adults-only pool. YES, PLEASE.
Forever 21 chambray shirt (old); GAP Essential short-sleeve V-neck tee in white; J.Crew Factory madras shorts (old) & flip flops (old); Madewell FairEnds camo baseball hat.
Sixty-eight miles of natural beauty. I highly recommend driving the Road to Hana if you visit Maui. It was the best short road trip of my life. The winding narrow roads and bridges through the lush rainforest were fun to drive. There were amazing beaches, all different in character from each other. Waterfalls seemed to be everywhere, stunning doesn’t even cover it.
I wish we could have hit more of the stops on our drive (like swim under a waterfall), but we had to return the car rental later in the day. So, allow for enough time for this road trip. You need at least one day dedicated to driving and I wouldn’t do it when it’s dark. There were cute hotels near the end if you wanted to do one leg of the drive on one day, crash overnight and then drive back the following day.
We really enjoyed our lunch at one of the few side stands on Hana Highway. We ordered delicious food that reminded me of the many shrimp trucks along the North Shore of Oahu.
The amazing Maui sunset was the best way to end our perfect day in Maui.
We just back from Cabo San Lucas, one of my favorite vacation destinations. It was our third trip there and the weather and people were amazing, just like our previous Cabo vacations (see here, here and here for our prior Cabo travels). This time, we were very fortunate to stay at the Esperanza Resort in Cabo. Talk about luxury, no detail was too minor. This resort makes everything stand out in its beauty and high level of service. The spa was to die for too.
My outfit is my go-to travel uniform. Boyfriend khakis are so comfortable to travel in, so much better than a pair of jeans. I love the utility of my denim jacket, the deep inside pockets are perfect for carrying your passports, boarding passes, etc. The Lululemon Vinyasa scarf makes for a great personal blanket on the plane (get yours now online in a lighter color combo, they always sell out fast). I love the colorblock look of my wedge sandals, the brown and black leather go with everything!
I promise to post more pics of Cabo (and outfits) in future posts, so check back for more fun in the sun, Cabo style.
Old Navy denim jacket; Boden Autumn Breton long sleeve top in vanilla & navy stripes (old, but similar here); Zara Camouflage skinny pants in navy (old, but similar in grey); J.Crew ‘MacAlister’ wedge boots in nut; H&M neon statement necklace (old); Forever 21 gauze scarf in grey (old); Chanel jumbo classic flap bag.
My husband and I checked out the Treasures from Korea: Arts and Culture of the Joseon Dynasty 1392-1910 exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art this past weekend. We really enjoyed the lively, comprehensive and informative exhibits, the museum did a great job in making it interactive and engaging for its guests. I highly recommend that you check it out for yourself, it ends on May 26th.
You should make a day of it and dine at Granite Hill restaurant, which is inside the museum. It’s a Stephen Starr restaurant that serves French bistro cuisine, but it was transformed into a Korean pop-up restaurant for the weekend in honor of the Treasures of Korea exhibition. The menu fused traditional Korean foods with modern influences. Our lunch was amazing–the food/cocktails, service and ambience were wonderful. What a gem of a restaurant and it made our Saturday out very special. A romantic meal and an afternoon at the museum makes for the perfect date with your significant other.
I’ve been pinning images of Emmanuelle Alt for her impeccable Fashion Week looks, no one wears jeans and a blazer/jacket better than her. Her look is effortless, chic and timeless. I was inspired to break out the white jeans and style them à la Alt.
I pretty much already own most of the elements, but never put this outfit together before. I really love the result. I think I may need skinny white jeans for a longer and cleaner line, instead of the straight leg pair I’m wearing (my jeans would not tuck nicely into booties, which is why I decided to cuff them). I substituted my peep toe booties for boots, as I am over winter and boots for awhile. No one does a blazer better than Rag & Bone and this leather lapel blazer I scored from Nordstrom a couple of years ago is no exception. I discovered this slouchy studded tee in the back of my closet, I love when that happens. And you may know my love for the Lululemon Vinyasa scarf, which I just wrapped once around my neck. I love the blazer and scarf together, I’ll have to do this more often while the weather is perfect for this combo.
Sanctuary camo jacket (old, but similar here, here & here); Joe Fresh check print shirt in navy & hot pink (old, but similar here); AG ‘Stilt’ jeans (old); Nike Air Pegasus ’83 sneakers in mica green orange; H&M neon pink statement necklace (old) & faux leather cuff bracelet (old); Cartier tank watch.

It’s time. For camo (yay). For Nikes (double yay). For tax returns (triple boo). It’s that time of year, oh joy.
I’m so happy to wear my camo jacket again, it’s so soft and the four deep pockets give me the freedom to leave my purse behind. I paired it with some touches of bright pink and orange for spring.
Not sure if you’ve noticed, but I got my second digital perm about a month ago. I loved the first digital perm so much, that I did it again. It lasted 11 months, I was expecting about 6 months or so, tops. Nothing beats the bouncy full body and beachy waves and I do absolutely nada to get them. This hair treatment was meant for me, hair lazy and all thumbs when it comes to styling. I did a review here when I did the digital perm for the first time. So, bring it on spring and summer. I got your beachy waves right here.
Happy April Fools’ Day!
