how does 60% off clearance sound?

Pretty sweet, yes? You need to hurry on these sales, sizes are going fast! Please note that my 60% off picks below are final sale at J.Crew but not at Nordstrom.

img_3105

J.Crew velvet cami in deep jade, excursion vest in tartan & double-breasted coat in oxford check; Vince cardigan in cinnamon stick (update, even cheaper here).

I love the velvet camis (reviewed here), so I was excited to see that the deep jade was available in my size and for $24.

I could use a puffer vest since my vest from last year is a little tight on me now. I really like the cheerful red and navy tartan for this. It’s a great deal at $40.

The checked coat is simultaneously cute and classic. Something different from my black puffer coat, which I’m sick of already this winter (but to be fair, it still fits over my baby bump). Yes please for about $100.

This cardigan is the *ultimate* grandpa cardigan. I love this sweater and the cinnamon stick color very much. Cozy and amazing. I ordered this in small and the fit is perfect (it’s not as huge on me as it is on the model). It’s a definite must for your winter wardrobe. The discount is mislabeled on the website, it’s definitely 60% off the regular price. It’s under $200, which for Vince and the cashmere/wool combo, it comes in at a great deal.

Happy shopping!

the classic white shirt

img_3070

Madewell oversized white shirt (old, similar here, here & here); Motherhood Maternity fleece-lined leggings (non-maternity option here & here); Banana Republic Abby flats in black leather; J.Crew Factory statement necklace (old, similar).

Nothing beats a classic white button-down shirt. It’s polished yet without any fussy effort. This outfit is ridiculously comfortable with my maternity fleece-lined leggings (I’ve been living in these lately) and new triple-strap flats. I added a statement necklace for a little color and bling. Done and done.

Happy Wednesday to you! xx

banana republic’s sale is a must

img_3030

Banana Republic wrap sweater in burgundy (similar), leopard maxi dress (similar here & here) & Abby flats in black leather.

It was a great Mail Day today, I received my recent Banana Republic online orders (previously discusssed here) and I really love the three items I purchased. Oh, and it’s an additional 50% off all sale items now at Banana Republic. As mentioned in my earlier post, Banana Republic had an additional 40% off sale items, but when they increased the discount to 50%, I reordered the maxi dress and ordered the shoes and top as well.

img_3026

Banana Republic leopard maxi dress (similar here & here) & Abby flats in black leather.

I’m wearing my usual size of XS and it’s definitely true to size. The overall execution of this dress exceeds my expectations so I am thrilled. It’s lined throughout (except for the sleeves), has pockets and the length is simply perfect for me (no alterations needed, woot). The elastic waistband is very comfortable, which is a small miracle because I’m 7.5 months pregnant and this is not a maternity dress. I am so pleased that I ordered this maxi dress! If they still have your size available, definitely buy it.

I also love the 3-strap flats and they are true to size. Another must have at $50 a pair for leather shoes. I’ve been a longtime fan of the lace-up flats but I get annoyed by the lace-up straps constantly falling down on me. This multi-strap iteration is just as edgy and stylish, but without the fuss (there’s easy access with a back zipper) and annoyance. I was so impressed by the look and comfort of these flats, I just ordered another pair in silver leather.

I hope the wrap top is still available because it’s going to be amazing for nursing. There is a tiny snap to secure the wrap neckline. The lightweight sweater material drapes beautifully and is quite flattering. I bought this top in burgundy in a size Small (one larger than my usual XS) since it was the only size available at the time, and it’s a loose yet doable fit. I just ordered this top in grey in size XS (again, the only available size online).

Have you been shopping the winter clearance sales? Any must-haves you’d like to share?

TGIF, enjoy your weekend! xx

Gap maternity long-sleeve tee in dark grey stripe (non-maternity option) & maternity legging jeans in indigo (also available in solid black and dark indigo; non-maternity option); Steven by Steve Madden leopard loafers (old, similar here & here).

A bit of pattern mixing in celebration of the unseasonably warm temperatures today. Stripes and leopard are a natural pairing, but I consider leopard a neutral anyway. My outfit is Bella-approved! 🐾

Enjoy your Thursday night! xx

A maternity fair isle sweater to keep my 29-week baby bump cozy and warm today. White ankle boots and cropped flare jeans to update the classic sweater and jeans winter look.

Have a great Tuesday! xx

leopard to the maxi (dress)

Banana Republic leopard maxi dress.

Banana Republic leopard maxi dress.

I have been seriously eyeing this leopard number from Banana Republic after spotting it on a blogger. Instant love. It looks way more expensive than the regular price of $148. The online reviews for this dress are all in agreement that this dress is as good as it looks online, if not better. I love the movement of this dress, it’s so feminine without even trying.

So, what made me pull the purchase trigger this morning? It went on sale today AND there is an additional 40% off sale items promotion at Banana Republic (no code needed, discount is automatic). So, now the dress is $75.59! So glad I waited from last week. But don’t delay in ordering this maxi dress, sizes are limited.

Happy Monday to you! xx

Happy 2017 & some Lilly love!

img_2893

Happy New Year to you and yours! Hope your 2017 is filled with lots of love, laughter and good health. I have some great news to share: we are having a baby girl! We are very excited and cannot wait to meet her and give her all of our love.

Lilly Pulitzer held their After Party Sale last week (online and in-store) and I was very interested in getting matching mom and daughter outfits at reduced sale prices. Unfortunately, their website had technical difficulties when the sale commenced (I had to wait a few hours in their online queue). By the time I was able to gain access the website, the baby shift dress I wanted sold out in my desired size–bummer.

I was not totally defeated, I managed to get this wrap dress on sale.

img_2911

Lilly Pulitzer Amoritta short sleeve wrap dress (sold out, similar here & here).

I’m planning ahead for nursing-friendly and flattering postpartum clothing. The wrap closure and lower neckline of this dress should make for easy nursing. I really hope this dress fits since it was a final sale item. I ordered a size XS, which is my usual Lilly Pulitzer size.

However, I still had matching Lilly Pulitzer mom and daughter outfits on the brain. So, I ordered our outfits at full price (which I try to avoid whenever possible) but in the print that I wanted and in my desired sizes. I blame pregnancy hormones for this purchase, ha.

img_2932

Lilly Pulitzer Lana romper (more sizes & prints here, here & here).

This off-the-shoulder romper is the perfect nursing-friendly and flattering postpartum (with the elastic waist) article of clothing for the summer. I really love this navy and hot pink pineapple print, it incorporates two of my favorite colors so well. I ordered a size XS for this romper.

img_2926

Lilly Pulitzer baby shift dress with matching bloomers (more sizes & prints here, here & here).

This shift dress is the only infant sized clothing option available from Lilly Pulitzer. Thankfully it’s adorable and I like the two-piece aspect. I die at the matching bloomers! I actually purchased this dress set from Saks since they had the size I needed (6 to 12 months). Saks always has free shipping, awesome.

img_2942

Post-purchase, I realized that I had a Motherboy moment with the matching print outfits. If you’re a fan of the Arrested Development show, you will remember this reference to this hilarious example of the special bond between Buster and Lucille Bluth.

Do you like and wear Lilly Pulitzer? If so, did you manage an After Party Sale purchase?

Happy 2017! xx

mad for plaid

img_2909

Topshop maternity plaid shirt in olive (similar in tartan plaid; non-maternity option); LA Made maternity leggings in anthracite (non-maternity option); New Balance 410 sneakers in black/white.

An outfit from last week, before the deep freeze and the snow. My baby bump has been growing larger at a quick pace in the third trimester, so I’ve been reaching for comfortable clothes that don’t feel binding.

Hope you are staying safe and warm this weekend! xx

my after-Christmas sale picks

The post-Christmas sales are aplenty, have you been browsing them this week? You’ll find my sale picks below of stuff I’ve been seriously eyeing for months.

img_2880

Top row, left to right: J.Crew flounce dress in wolfstooth, taffeta skirt in Stewart plaid & fair isle sweater.

Promo code SHOPSALE at J.Crew provides an additional 40% off on the items above. I have been eyeing the houndstooth dress and Stewart plaid skirt ever since they were released but refrained from purchasing due to my pregnancy. They are both under $50 now with the SHOPSALE code. Love the cropped length of the fair isle sweater, it’s a fresh update on this winter classic.

Bottom row, left to right: Madewell tartan plaid shirt, embroidered star jeans & metallic tank.

Promo code BIGSALE at Madewell provides an additional 30% off on my picks above. I hope someone buys these embroidered star jeans, they are so retro cool. The tartan plaid shirt is so festive and the metallic tank is the perfect holiday party layer or date night standout.

Have a great Thursday! xx

my top maternity tops

One type of maternity clothing item I’ve been largely avoiding is the maternity top. Instead, I’ve been acquiring non-maternity oversized sweaters and tops so I can wear them long after the pregnancy is over (blog post on that soon, but you can scroll through my blog posts since the early fall to view the various non-maternity sweaters and tops). Also, there are a lot of maternity tops out there that simply aren’t my taste. I stay away from tops with the telltale maternity ruching on the sides (I find them itchy) and those tops with the above-the-belly belts/overemphasized empire waists.

But one attribute that I really appreciate in a legit maternity top is the long tunic length. It covers all the elastic maternity panels (or under-the-belly exposure) of your jeans, leggings and pants. You can raise your arms with confidence that your belly or panels won’t show. You can’t really do this with a non-maternity top unless that top is a truly a tunic.

Here are my personal picks for maternity tops:

img_2833

Topshop maternity plaid shirt in olive.

I bought this 100% cotton button-down shirt in my usual pre-pregnancy Topshop size of US 4. It fits me perfectly. It’s very soft and I love the extra-long length. I plan on wearing this shirt post-pregnancy with leggings since it covers everything you want covered.

img_2844

Gap maternity striped long-sleeve tee in dark grey stripe and neutral stripe.

I am literally obsessed with these Gap striped tees. The material is so soft and cushy, it feels like a dream against your skin. I wear these a ton as my first layer under sweaters and blazers/jackets. I like the higher neckline too for keeping out the cold and for being a fab backdrop to your favorite necklace. I bought my usual pre-pregnancy size of XS and the fit is spot on. It’s definitely fitted though and will show off that pregnant belly, but in a very cute way. My favorite feature is the lack of side ruching and that it’s not a tent. I will be wearing these post-pregnancy, the long length is key and it doesn’t creep upwards.

I’m wearing the tee here.

img_2845

Kimi and Kai maternity zip collar sweatshirt in black (also available in grey or navy).

I purchased this sweatshirt in black (during Black Friday) in a size XS and it runs true to size. It’s longer on me than on the model in the stock photo, so I like wearing it with my fleece-lined leggings (everything is covered). You can leave the collar up all the way or fold it over. The sweatshirt has a flattering fit while being very cozy. You can also unzip the collar for a different look. Since it has no ruching, I plan on wearing this post-pregnancy.

img_2846

Liz Lange for Target maternity lace detail top in rose and wild fern.

I like this top because the shoulder area is nicely fitted and the lace detail in the front and the lattice detail in the back are very pretty and feminine in person. I have this top in a dark purple color (which has since sold out), but I think the dark green and blush pink colors are gorgeous. It’s currently on clearance for under $7, nice! This can easily be worn post-pregnancy and that is what I plan to do.

Hope you liked my maternity top picks and reviews.

Have a great day! xx
