j.crew’s June styles & my 30% off sale picks

I was really excited when I received the June 2016 J.Crew style guide in the mail last week, there were a number of pretty things that piqued my interest. Most of them were accessories, but there were a few clothing items that made it into my online shopping bag. Then I waited for a sale promo. It starts today! Promo code SUMMER provides an additional 25% off of select full-price and sale items. But promo code CARDSONLY and purchase with your J.Crew card will get you an extra 30% discount on select full-price and sale items. This promotion ends on May 20!

Here are my picks that enjoy the additional 30% CARDSONLY discount:

J.Crew candy stripe popover shirt.

This fun shirt reminds me of a lifesaver roll wrapper or the sleeves of my little Korean hanbok (it’s the traditional Korean dress) when I was a kid. The print is cheerful to the max, it just screams summer.

J.Crew chino sailor pants in navy & white.

As you may be aware, I’ve been obsessed with sailor pants and shorts this year (can you tell from this post, haha). I love nautical inspired looks for the spring and summer. But what sold me on this particular pair is the lace-up detail in the back. I’m not sure if it’s functional to tighten or loosen the fit at the waist. Who cares though, it’s a subversive sexy detail.

J.Crew gingham bandana, plaid bandana & striped belt.

This is my second attempt at getting a gingham bandana. The first try was with a pocket square (posted here), but it was too small to tie around my neck or anywhere else really. I gave it to my husband to use as a…pocket square. I’m very excited for the two bandanas, they looked adorable styled in the J.Crew mailer. I also love the old school preppy belt, which should smarten up my shorts, jeans and skirts this summer.

J.Crew madras shorts.

This classic pair of madras shorts have been around before the June rollout, but they’re included in the promo and I can attest to how great these shorts are since I recently purchased them. They are true to size (I ordered my usual size 0) and the length and fit are perfect. I had a pair of these shorts from J.Crew Factory (worn here & here) but they are too large for me to wear now.

J.Crew chambray crystal earrings & leather eyelet sandals.

I didn’t order the gorgeous earrings or the pretty sandals, but I’d seriously consider it if I were in the market for earrings and flat sandals. The online description says the earrings are lightweight, which is a key feature. If you put your hair up a lot in the summer, how glorious would these be next to your face? The cutout sandals are ultra feminine and would show off a deep summer tan.

J.Crew green sunglasses, Dr. Scholl’s for J.Crew white lacquer sandals & Gallabia Peru mini dress.

The three items above are excluded from all the promos. Sad face. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy looking at them.

You need green sunglasses, trust me. I bought my pair recently (at Banana Republic, but green is sold out) and I love them. It’s a lovely contrast against your complexion and hair. I’m wearing my pair here, here and here. This pair from J.Crew is nearly identical in the shade of green.

The all-white Dr. Scholl’s sandals kill me. I would have bought these had they been part of the CARDSONLY promotion. I remember having a pair of Dr. Scholl’s as a kid, I thought they were the absolute bomb. I will be keeping a close eye on these for future promos.

Lastly, how perfectly boho is that dress? But it’s a cover-up. For $250. It doesn’t matter anyway, it’s sold out in my size. That was fast. But it’s still available in medium and large, thankfully.

So, what do you think of my picks? Are you planning to shop the J.Crew sale?

Have a great Tuesday! xx
